About God's Written Word
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
- II Timothy 3:16, & 17

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
- II Peter 1:20, & 21

The Bible was written by men who were breathed upon by the Spirit of God, who inspired to them what to write. This Bible is God's Word. All of it. Not a tiny portion of it. Not a few paragraphs here because I like the way it is, but since this part talks about judgement, Oh, no...we can't have that. The Bible is every word of it true.
If you believe in half of it, and discard what you don't like, then you are calling God a liar. God's Word is His letter to us. He wanted us to have His Word so that we may come to know Him. We must take all of His Word, because His Word clearly warns us about taking away from and adding to His Word. Woe to anyone who does that.
This is what God says to those who try to change His Word...
"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book (God's Word, the Holy Bible), If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
- Revelation 22:18, & 19

My bottem line is this...If you add or take away from His Book, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes.
